Accounts & imports
Import from MatchTrader
Use MatchTrader’s closed-position CSV to bring completed trades into Forexizer. Keep the original exports until the imported count, dates, costs, and net P&L match MatchTrader.
Before you export
- Select the correct trading account in MatchTrader.
- Confirm the account’s base currency.
- Find the timezone used by the exported trade times. Forexizer suggests a timezone when the CSV contains no offset, but you must confirm it.
- Do not open or resave the CSV in spreadsheet software before importing it.

Export closed positions
- Open the Closed positions tab at the bottom of MatchTrader.
- Select the date range you want to import.
- Select the download control on the far right.
- Choose CSV, not HTML.
- Save the file without changing its column names or values.

Understand MatchTrader P&L columns
MatchTrader and Forexizer use different names for the same values. Forexizer uses the standard journal definitions also used by TradeZella:
| MatchTrader column | Forexizer label | Meaning | | --- | --- | --- | | Net profit | Gross P&L | Realized trading result before commission and swap | | Commission | Commission | Broker execution fees | | Swap | Swap | Overnight financing charge or credit | | Profit | Net P&L | Final result after commission and swap |
Forexizer calculates Net P&L = Gross P&L + Commission + Swap. Charges have a negative sign, while credits have a positive sign.
For example, a trade with $250.00 gross P&L, -$12.00 commission, and -$3.00 swap has $235.00 net P&L.
Forexizer reads MatchTrader’s Profit column when the export includes both profit columns. If an older export contains only Net profit, Forexizer applies commission and swap once. MatchTrader totals rows summarize the file, so Forexizer does not import them as trades.
Export Finance history (optional)
MatchTrader can also export the Finance tab as CSV. Forexizer can read deposit rows from this file to fill the starting balance.
- Open Finance in MatchTrader.
- Select Export to CSV.
- Choose CSV if MatchTrader offers CSV and HTML.
- Keep this file separate from the closed-positions export.

Only use the Finance CSV when its deposit total represents the account’s original funding. If the account received later deposits or top-ups, enter the original starting balance manually and record later cash movements as balance adjustments in Forexizer.
Make sure trade times match
MatchTrader writes trade times without saying which local clock it used. Forexizer selects the most likely setting and converts the preview to your local time. You do not need to calculate the difference yourself.
Confirm the setting with one trade:
- Find a trade whose opening or closing time you can check in MatchTrader.
- Find the same trade in the Forexizer preview.
- Select Times look correct when the times match.
- Open Times don’t match? Choose another setting when they differ.
- Try the time setting shown in MatchTrader, then compare the preview again.
- Select Use selected setting when the updated times match.
The Opened and Closed headings show your local timezone. Forexizer starts MatchTrader files with UTC, a standard reference clock used by MatchTrader internally. MatchTrader can still export another time setting, which is why Forexizer asks you to check one trade.
Import into a new Forexizer account
- Open Accounts in Forexizer and select Add account.
- Choose MatchTrader as the platform.
- Enter the account name, base currency, account type, and default risk.
- Upload the MatchTrader closed-positions CSV.
- Review the suggested CSV timezone and confirm that it matches the broker export. Forexizer suggests UTC for MatchTrader files unless saved account data or manual trade matches provide stronger evidence.
- Optionally upload the Finance CSV, or enter the original starting balance manually.
- Review the valid, duplicate, and invalid row counts, date range, net P&L, commission, and swap.
- Select Import only when the preview matches MatchTrader.

Import into an existing account
Open the account menu and select Import CSV. Upload the closed-positions file and review any suggested matches with manually entered trades. Choose whether each match should merge, remain separate, or be skipped.
Merging keeps your manual notes and original stop, then fills the broker values from the CSV. Reimporting the same MatchTrader rows does not create duplicates when their trade identifiers are unchanged.
Verify the result
Compare Forexizer with MatchTrader before deleting either export:
- imported closed-trade count
- first and last close dates
- net P&L
- commission and swap
- starting and current balance
If a total differs, check the selected account, export range, timezone, invalid rows, duplicate rows, and later deposits before importing again.
